NCKU Visited AZTW, ASU And Banner Research

Prof. Chris Lee, Director of International Relations of National Cheng-Kung University (NCKU), visited AZ-TW, ASU and Banner on Jan. 14 and 15.

He met Banner scientist Dr. Kewei Chen, and visited ASU College of Engineering Jeff Goss and School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE) (Dr. Marco Santello, Dr. Vincent Pizziconi, Bruce Towe).

AZ-TW Visited National Chengchi University

The AZ-TW Society of Technology delegates Ms. Angela Cesal, Chairperson, Dr. Wei-Tek Tsai, Vice chair visited National Chengchi University (NCCU) on August 13, 2013, and met Prof. Shu-Heng Chen, Dean of Office of International Cooperation (OIC) and Distinguished Professor of Department of Economics, and Claire Tao, Executive Manager for Asia-Pacific Affairs, Cooperation & Exchange Section, Office of International Cooperation.
Prof. Shu-Heng Chen and Ms. Claire Tao expressed their interests in establishing collaborative programs between AZ and National Chengchi University (NCCU), particularly between ASU and NCCU.

AZ-TW Visited National Science Council

Ms. Angela Cesal, Chairperson, AZ-TW Society of Technology (AZ-TW) and Dr. R. F. “Rick” Shangraw, Jr., CEO of ASU Foundation, paid a courtesy visit to National Science Council in Taiwan on August 9th, 2013.

Ms. Angela also introduced Dr. R. F. “Rick” Shangraw, Jr. to Dr. Tsay,  the chairman of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI / 工業技術研究院).

The Arizona State University (ASU) delegation consisting of President Michael Crow, Vice Provost Denis Simon, and AZ-TW Society of Technology Chair Ms. Angela Yin Cesal visited Taiwan in March 2013. On April 1, 2013, the delegation paid a formal visit to President Ying-Jeou Ma at the Presidential Palace in Taipei with the Minister of Education Dr. Wei-Ling Chiang.

This ASU delegation expedition was arranged by National Science Council of the Republic of China, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles, and AZ-TW Society of Technology in Phoenix. During the trip, President Michael Crow received an honorable Ph.D. degree from National Central University in recognition of his outstanding achievements in bringing ASU into prominence when it became one of top 20 public universities in the U.S.

ASU / NCU Sister University Signing Ceremony

ASU National Central University Signing Ceremony

On March 31st, 2013, Arizona State University and Taiwan’s National Central University officially formed sister university, the agreement was signed by both presidents, Dr. Michael Crow and Dr. Jin-Yang Jou, respectively.

This is the first of three Taiwan’s universities ASU is seeking to form sister universities, the other two, National Taiwan University and National Tsinghua University are expected to follow suit for signing soon.

National Science Council Meet ASU

Both parties expressed their willingness to collaborate with each other.
